People often do not come together to the same agreement especially when there are a lot. But as many differences that we have as much, we are similar when it comes to cruel acts against any soul that lives on this earth. No one wants to see another person or even an animal get tortured. It just breaks our hearts.
Even though America is much divided, this did not mean it could not come to an agreement on its next new bill. In the House of Representatives there was a recent passing of a new bill about animal cruelty. And surprisingly enough 100% of the voters agreed to add any animal abuse or torture to the crime list. The new law was finally set into place. There was already a law about animal cruelty, but it was only if caught on camera. Now the new law states that anyone who puts hand over an animal such as mammal or birds with the intention of their suffering will be counted as a federal crime and the person charged with animal cruelty can be sentenced up to 7 years in jail.
This law not only hopes to stop the violent acts towards animals but also hopes to open the eyes of the other countries to make this law active also. Because a lot of countries view America as a state of power they try to put similar laws in action for themselves also. Republican Vern Buchanan and Democrat Ted Deutch represented this law saying that it was a decision made by all. Not only voters were against animal abuse but also the public. Ted also claimed that even if this new law will be able to save even one animal out of cruelty then all of this was worth it. The two representatives were shown in a photo holding a happy dog. This was a strong message for everyone, even though these two men were from different parties they still were able to agree to the new bill and also warm the hearts of viewers.
Committing a crime towards animals is something a lot of people take advantage of. They think that just because animals do not have the ability to speak they can do whatever they want to them. But any animal can feel pain just like humans, they can cry and can think of why all that is happening to them. Their heart just breaks as they feel confused about why a person would do such a thing.
I once had a puppy that I gave out for adoption. Since he was just a puppy and not trained at all it was getting on my nerves. The thing that did not make sense at all was that every time I left the room he would poop in front of the door, and every time I would enter the room I would step on it. I started to get furious and one day I just snapped. I got him and put him in a corner and just screamed the word NO at his face while pointing at the mess he had made. Then I decided to hit him very hard at his bum. I regretted it as soon as it happened because my little pup started crying in shock. I felt so bad I never did that again. Hurting animals hurts our souls. We should treat them as equal beings of this earth.
