Eating healthy should be a habit for everyone. After all, if you eat healthily and you take care of your body, then your brain can work better, because the old quote I still valid: “Healthy body, healthy mind”. But there are some norms in behaviour from each and every one of us that we must respect. And although we should all eat healthily, that doesn’t mean we have the right to taunt someone who doesn't or who we think he doesn’t. That is unacceptable, especially when it is a kid.
I remember as a kid they would serve us food at school, but I don’t remember it being really healthy. Mostly rice and fried potatoes, greasy and not a very good taste, but hey, times have changed since 17 years ago. An eating healthy campaign was introduced lately in some schools in Ontario, Canada. And these schools took this campaign and started applying it, but they took it a little bit too far for the kids. For example, a kid had brought his own food from home and one of the staff members decided to throw it away after checking it and deciding that it was unhealthy.
Eliana Daoust, the mother of the kid was really angry when her boy came home and told her all about what happened. She decided to take the complaint at the school for being unprofessional and rude towards the kids. The school, on the other hand, had a list of things that a kid should eat at school or bring from home. But the school also said that they never encouraged or instructed anyone of the staff to take the food away from the kids, for being unhealthy. Let us know what you think.
