Prince George spotted for first time amid Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis – and everyone is saying the same thing

Prince George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have gone through an exceptionally challenging time in recent weeks. Their mother, Kate Middleton, not only underwent abdominal surgery in January, but in March, she announced she had cancer.

The children reportedly found out about it in February. Still, in the weeks following the official announcement, George and his siblings have been able to spend quality time with their parents at Anmer Hall in Sandringham during their Easter break.

Like their mother, Prince George, his younger sister, and younger brother haven’t been seen in public for months. However, just days ago, the young prince and future king were caught by cameras at a soccer game – and everyone is saying the same thing.

Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis announcement was a huge shock. Fans worldwide had been wondering how the Princess of Wales had been doing since the abdominal surgery in January, and on March 22, Kate finally decided to tell the world.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be okay,” Kate said in the video.

Prince George “can’t be shielded” from getting question’s about Kate Middleton’s cancer

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were said to have been told about their mother’s cancer diagnosis in February. The young children – ten-year-old George, eight-year-old Charlotte, and five-year-old Louis – are Prince William and Kate Middleton’s biggest priority and will always be.

As the Princess of Wales is now undergoing her treatment, which involves “a course of preventative chemotherapy,” she and her husband want to protect their children as much as they can. Therefore, the announcement made on March 22 at 6 pm GMT was not a coincidence.

According to the Sunday Times, the cancer announcement video was released just a few hours after their children’s school had closed so their friends wouldn’t immediately ask questions about it. At that point, they had gotten the news.

“George is ten now and can’t be shielded from any of this now,” a palace source told the Times. “Once it’s at the school gate and in the school playground, he won’t be able to avoid it.”

So, how do you tell your children that you have cancer? One person, King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold, argues that Prince William and Kate Middleton explained it differently to each of the children.

“Charlotte and George are going to be good supports for her”

Speaking with The Post, Harrold, who worked for Charles for seven years when he was the Prince of Wales, said that the couple most likely “sugarcoated” her health issues when they broke the news to Prince Louis.

“I’m sure it was a very difficult and very different conversation between children,” Grant Harrold told the NY Post. “For instance, for Louis, I’m sure the conversation was more sugarcoated than it was with George and Charlotte.”

The former butler continued, “The older children can understand more, so I’d imagine it was a little more frank but undoubtedly staying positive, which is so important.”

“That’s why when you now look at the picture of Kate with her three children, it brings a tear to your eye. For any mother to have that conversation is huge and you can imagine Charlotte and George are going to be good supports for her.”

Moreover, Harrold stated that since Louis is only five, it’s fair to assume that the young prince “probably doesn’t understand too much” about his mother’s cancer diagnosis.

“It’s a tricky one. I’m sure the children will be handling it as any kids would be expected to handle it, but I think their parents are very good at being calm and collected, and I think that will rub off on the children,” he told the NY Post.

Prince George

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are returning to school on April 17 after some weeks off. The royal children have spent much of their free time with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Anmer Hall at Sandringham.

Royal expert says William and Kate are “lucky” George is still “quite young”

Being at Anmer Hall meant the family could spend much time together, far away from royal fans and the media.

Meanwhile, GB News host Bev Turned stated that Easter was a perfect time to discuss what was happening. She noted that Kate “wanted to tell her children in her own time,” adding that the princess “didn’t want to be pushed into it” even though the speculations grew.

“She’s got them off for Easter for 2 or 3 weeks now, and she can talk to them and keep them close,” Bev Turned said.

Further, royal commentator Sarah Vine added that Kate Middleton and William are “lucky” that their children are still “quite young.” If they had been older, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, or Prince Louis could’ve found out about it on the internet before hearing the news from their parents.

According to her, the most crucial thing for Kate and William to do now is protect the kids.

“It’s very important to try and manage the children because it’s just really frightening knowing that your mother’s ill and they will probably have a lot of questions,” she said.

Co-host Andrew Pierce added, “And also, kids on the playground are cruel, and it’s better that it’s not exposed to the kids on the playground just yet.”

“They can’t the boy from gossip schoolyard tattle and kids talking”

On April 17, the royal children will return to everyday life. Schoolmates might ask Prince George and his siblings questions about their mother at the playground, but we don’t know how they will react if this happens.

While things might return to ordinary, royal expert Daniela Elser claims that Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children are about to “face their most serious stress test yet” – and Prince George could be in the center.

“George might have a retinue of bodyguards who probably know 17 ways to kill someone using only their bare hands, but even they can’t protect the boy from schoolyard tattle and kids talking,” Elser wrote in a column for News.com.au.

“It would seem that by and large the Lambrook community has, and will continue to, rally around the family, however there are limits and kids, even ones who start their day with boiled quails eggs and celery salt, are only kids. How will George, Charlotte and Louis cope having to be back at school where all of their classmates and the entire world knows their mum is unwell?”

Elser continued, “The good news is that William, Kate, and their three have another blessed week of peace and quiet and more nature than you could shake an antique mahogany stick at before this all descends on them, and George realizes he’s lost his Latin primer.”

Like his siblings and mother, Prince George has not been seen in public for quite a while. However, last Thursday, the young prince was finally seen with his father while attending a football match.

Prince George seen in public for the first time since Kate’s cancer announcement

Prince George and Prince William attended as Aston Villa played French side Lille in the Europa Conference League. The night ended excellently for them, as Aston Villa won 2-1.

Royal fans quickly took to social media, and everyone agreed that Prince George and his father seemed to have had an amazing father-son bonding evening.

“Just wow. Two future kings just enjoying a fabulous night without security to the Tee or some type of stupid drama. Prince William and Prince George are the finest father and son duo,” one person wrote on X, as per Express.

Another added, “Just normal dad & son stuff of two unassuming future Kings.”

A third wrote,” “Love this. William is such a good dad.” One royal fan pointed out how mature George looked, as they said: “Love this family! Prince George is growing up so fast!”

Moreover, other royal fans pointed out that Prince William showed a great example of parenting by bringing his son to the game.

“I love that Prince William is still trying to do all the things he usually does with his family to keep things as normal as possible. Father goal,” one person wrote.

A second added, “Prince William and Prince George making memories at Villa Park, bonding over their love for football. A true testament to Prince William’s commitment to being a hands-on dad.”

A third commented “Prince William and Prince George enjoying a special father-son outing at the Villa Park game tonight. It’s heartwarming to see Prince William prioritizing family time and keeping things normal for his son.”

Royal fans were left furious when seeing pictures of Prince George at Wimbledon

Prince George has been seen at many sporting events with his parents. However, royal fans have not always reacted positively to them.

In July 2022, Prince George was dressed in a blue suit and tie as he accompanied his parents to the Wimbledon men’s final to watch defending champion Novak Djokovic’s win over Nick Kyrgios.

He was seen laughing, picking his nose, and having conversations with his parents.

However, pictures appeared to show George in discomfort as well. On the day, temperatures in London soared to 28C (82F), and the young prince was clearly feeling the heat.

“[It’s] too hot,” George told his dad, “as reported by Sky.

William replied, “Oh you’re hot, are you? It’s very warm today […] It’ll be fine.”

As reported by the Daily Express, royal fans took to X (former Twitter) to share their thoughts. Many of them were concerned.

“Poor child having to wear a suit in this hot weather,” one user wrote.

“Poor Prince George”

“Why do they dress him in a suit and tie and in this heat. He’s a boy, not a grown up,” another stated.

A third said, “Poor Prince George, he must be boiling in that suit.”

According to Hello Magazine, Prince George has been taking tennis lessons since he was five.

The family actually has its own court at its country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. Who knows—perhaps George is a future Wimbledon champion in the making? But if William gets to choose, he surely would love seeing his oldest son and future king playing for Aston Villa.

Please share this article if you think Prince George will be a good king in the future!
