Photographers just seem to have an eye for the world around them that most of us don’t have. They can take a relatively normal occurrence and turn it into something incredible when they capture it digitally or on film. Even if they see something incredible, they can take things to the next level by positioning themselves properly and capturing a picture that is going to stand out.
That is the case was Steve Biro and he loves to take pictures of bald eagles. In fact, he has taken hundreds of pictures of one particular bald eagle named Bruce but there is one of those pictures that really stands above the rest. “He’s squared up perfectly, both wings are touching the water,” he told the BBC. “That [photograph] was the one that struck me as little more special than the others.” As you can imagine, the picture has gone viral.
Biro started taking pictures as a hobby 10 years ago when he was visiting Ontario’s Canadian raptor Conservatory. That is when he first saw Bruce the Bald Eagle.
Biro wanted to take some pictures of the bird so he set up his camera. That is when he realized that Bruce was not happy with where he was.
Facebook video may take a moment to load:
“He was actually trying to brush me away from where I was perched,” he told the BBC. “I could feel the breeze from his wings as he flew over me. The other people who were there were gasping as he came over my head. It was really quite exhilarating.”
Biro took some pictures as Bruce flew overhead. He managed to get some of the most amazing pictures from it.
“I knew it was a great image when I saw how balanced it was but never in my wildest dreams did I expect anything of this magnitude.”
Since he posted the picture, it has gone viral and has been passed around more times then we can count. It even ended up on the front page of Reddit.
“It warms my heart to know I might bring joy to people who may not even be able to leave the house and that they love to see the world through my eyes.”
