As Beth Chapman continues to struggle with her fight for cancer, she witnesses a glimmer of happiness as she welcomes her first great grand baby during these difficult times. Beth who is the wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter is still reported to be undergoing chemotherapy to fight the illness. However, the beauty of welcoming her new grandson has given her immense happiness. She excitedly posted the happy news on social media “My first great grandbaby, he's adorable and he’s precious and he came 5 weeks early to meet me.”
Beth took to Instagram on the 25th of January by posting a series of cute photographs wearing a black hat and holding her tiny grandson in her arms. Beth tagged her grandson Dakota Chapman, 23 who is the new father to the little baby. She also took the time to congratulate Leland Chapman who is the father of Dakota on welcoming his “first grandbaby”. She said, “It just gets better.” Leland is the third out of Dog’s twelve children, his mother is Dog’s first wife, La Fonda Sue Darnall as reported by US Magazine.
The happy news comes through some difficult times as Beth continues her chemotherapy sessions to cure her throat cancer. Her lawyer, Andrew Brettler confirmed to US Weekly that Beth was undergoing chemotherapy treatment in LA since last month saying that “they are going well but they certainly take their toll on her.”
Beth was initially diagnosed with stage two of throat cancer in September 2017 where she immediately undertook surgery. However, a year later, it was confirmed that the cancer had returned.
Beth’s celebration of being cancer free was short-lived as she received another cancer scare in 2018. She was rushed to Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Hospital where she underwent further surgery to remove the cancerous tumour. Despite doctor’s advice, Beth discharged herself from hospital and continues to update her social media.
TMZ has reported that Beth Chapman’s treatment has gone good so far. The report disclosed that Beth was undergoing chemotherapy which is used to kill cancer cells that have spread all over the body. Doctors have stated that the cancer had spread to her lungs which explains the need for them to recommend chemotherapy.
A recent picture posted on Beth’s social media accounts said that “cancer sucks” and “it’s only hair” referring to the common symptoms of hair loss of those that undergo chemotherapy. It is important to note that chemotherapy has several other symptoms and can cause mental health issues as it is a very emotionally draining experience. It has also been reported that Beth and her husband Dog have been travelling back and forth their family home in Colorado and the hospital in Los Angeles where Beth was undergoing treatment. Although chemotherapy is known to be very serious, it has been reported that Beth was responding well to the treatment so far.
Dog, Beth’s wife has continued to show his strong support for his wife who has been struggling through tough times. He has been quite vocal about her experience and continues to ask his fans to pray for Beth’s recovery. He previously said in a statement, “I pray a lot, anywhere. I cry all the time. I’m a sinner. I pray a lot. I have done double that. I constantly ask God to heal my honey and make sure He takes care of it. I’ve been telling Him that I’m going to try and quit smoking and cursing. I’m a dealmaker, and I’ll do anything.”
Rainy Robinson who is a close family friend has described Dog’s support for his wife as resilient. He said, “I pray a lot, anywhere. I cry all the time. I’m a sinner. I pray a lot. I have done double that. I constantly ask God to heal my honey and make sure He takes care of it. I’ve been telling Him that I’m going to try and quit smoking and cursing. I’m a dealmaker, and I’ll do anything.”
It also worth noting that Dog and his wife are resuming filming in the new reality TV series called Dog’s Most Wanted which is produced by WGN America.
We wish the family the best of luck.
