It’s disheartening to hear about so many animals that have been gifted as Christmas presents during the Christmas season, but are then left abandoned just a few weeks later.
Following Christmas, numerous shelters across the country witness an increase in the number of animals that are abandoned. Statistics in the UK have revealed that approximately 3 pets are abandoned every hour during the holiday season.
Although it’s sad to hear that pets are being dumped, it brings a little hope to hear that they are at least rehoused.
A recent video recording went viral showing a man abandoning a dog. The dog named Snoop has had hundreds of offers to house him, but it was actually Snoop Dogg the hip hop star who decided to rehome him himself.
The viral video was recorded on December 17 in Stoke-on-Trent and shows the dog trying to get back to the man that abandoned him in the dark night.
Snoop the little Staffordshire Bull Terrier was found an hour later by a passerby who took him in according to Manchester Evening News.
The RSPCA published the video on social media which later went viral.
Snoop Dog rehomes little Snoop
Amongst hundreds of people that wanted to rehome little Snoop, it was the hip hop artist Snoop Dogg who offered the pooch a new home after seeing the viral video.
Snoop Dogg told the Daily Star that seeing the dog in the video was heartbreaking.
“There is always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop. If he really needed a home then he has one with us,” he said.
