6-year-old boy goes missing: When rescuers find him, they notice what’s lying beside him

When someone goes missing time is of the essence and if you are a parent or are related in any way to the missing person, fear, concern and impotence are the only things you can feel.
A kid named Kaydon Leach disappeared from his home in Blount County on the evening of April 23 2018 with his dog named Chula. His parents started looking for him, calling friends, family and neighbors but no one had seen the boy and his pet.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Endangered Child Alert for Kaydon; authorities began with the search as well as volunteers from the community.
The community found out about the missing boy thanks to an app called: Next Door. It's an app that allows neighbors to communicate. HOA President Mike McClurg sent out a message to alert the community that Kaydon Leach was missing.

“As soon as someone sends a message out, then everyone in the community receives it and can reply,” said McClurg. “Just sent out 7- something, I guess, that a boy, 6-year-old, had been lost, and everyone knew what to do.”
Fortunately after 22 hours, Kaydon Leach was found half mile away from his home in the Top of the World community in Blount County at 3:30 pm on April 24.
It seems that Kaydon’s dog is the true hero in this story! The black and white terrier named Chula guided rescuers to the missing boy. According to Blount County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeff French: “The dog actually growled at the rescuers when they approached Kaydon.”
The dog never left him alone, he stayed all night with the boy, it was dark, it was raining, it was a cold a night, the dog stayed by his best friend´s side to protect him and actually saved his life!

Kaydon was purple and cold when they found him and he was sent to the hospital immediately.
“We're so thankful to everyone, from local law enforcement agencies to volunteers, who helped us find Kaydon” said the family in a statement released Tuesday evening. “The amount of support we have received has been tremendous, even from people we don't even know. We appreciate all our friends and neighbors, and ask for privacy at this time.”
Thanks to the brave dog the little boy is now alive and well, there is a reason why dogs are man´s best friend, isn´t it?
