To make sense of what surrounds us, we rely on our expectations. We make choices according to how we believe our world functions. But sometimes our perceptions can be deceiving.
Laugh Factory shared this joke about a very stubborn preacher.
Read the joke below.
There was a preacher who fell in the ocean and he couldn’t swim.
When a boat came by, the captain yelled, “Do you need help, sir?”
The preacher calmly said “No, God will save me.”
A little later, another boat came by and a fisherman asked, “Hey, do you need help?” The preacher replied again, “No God will save me.”
Eventually the preacher drowned & went to heaven. The preacher asked God, “Why didn’t you save me?”
God replied, “Fool, I sent you two boats!”
The lesson? Don’t let the blessings around you go unnoticed. Opportunities flit in and out of our lives every day. Sometimes life-saving gifts come in a form that you weren’t expecting, so keep your eyes wide open. If you’re drowning, it’s time to stop thinking. Grab onto that hand that’s reaching to free you.
