Olympic Skater ‘Irish Dances’ Across Ice, Brings Entire Stadium To Their Feet

When the Irish music and dancing show Riverdance premiered in 1995, it immediately caught the world’s fancy. I can remember standing in my living room watching the show on TV and trying to move my feet in the impossibly quick and precise way the dancers did.

Even today when I hear the music something stirs in my heart, and I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way.

When 2015 U.S. national champion figure skater Jason Brown and his coach and choreographer were trying to come up with a new routine, Jason thought his team was crazy when they suggested he skate to “Reel Around The Sun” from the Riverdance show. But the decision would soon prove to be magic.

As soon as the music started, the audience was captivated, and as Jason skated and leaped across the ice, he continued to draw them in.

While the ice rink is a very different stage than the one the original Riverdancers performed on, Jason was able to perform his own version of the Irish dance, and it’s absolutely incredible to watch.

As Jason flawlessly skated through his routine, even the announcers couldn’t contain their excitement and awe! By the end, the entire stadium was on their feet.

Twenty million people have already fallen in love with this incredible performance. Once you see it, you’ll understand exactly why!
