Trump border czar issues brutally blunt message to Selena Gomez following video of her crying over new order

Selena Gomez has received a scathing response from Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, after her now-deleted Instagram video.

The singer and actor recently reacted to President Donald Trump’s new executive orders surrounding immigration.

Following Trump’s order for a nationwide crackdown, almost 1,000 people were arrested on Sunday (26 January), according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Allegedly, those who were arrested had entered the country illegally and had also committed crimes within the US before ICE apprehended them.

Gomez, who is Mexican American, was beside herself when the news broke and discussed the new president’s plan to deport millions of immigrants.

The 32-year-old star broke down in tears as she said in an Instagram video: “I just want to say that I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked.

“The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry I wish I could do something, but I can’t.

“I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

However, border czar, Homan, who is leading the immigration task force, has since told Fox News: “If they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We’re going to do this operation without apology.”

What is a czar?

Now, if you’re wondering what a czar is, it’s shorthand for a high-level executive branch official, who is in charge of a specific policy focus and is not a Senate-confirmed position.

So, Trump can appoint anyone as a czar without having to go through the Senate for approval, making it faster for the person to take up their job and get to work.

Trump border czar’s response

Former police officer Homan went on to deny that people are being targeted in raids and that he doesn’t ‘think we’ve arrested any families’.

He added: “We’ve arrested public safety threats and national security threats, bottom-line.

“President Trump won the election on this one issue – securing our border and saving lives.

“What happened on our southern border in the last four years is the biggest national security threat our county has seen, at least in my lifetime.”

Homan continued on Hannity: “I met with hundreds of Angel moms and dads who are separated from their children because they buried them because they were killed by illegal aliens.

“We got a half a million children who were sex trafficked into this country, separated from their families, put in the hands of criminal cartels to be smuggled into the country. This administration can’t find over 300,000. Where’s the tears for them?”

The border czar then went on to claim that because of the nationwide crackdown, the ‘overdose of fentanyl is going to drop’ and the ‘illegal alien crime is going to drop’ as a result of the deportations.

He also claimed: “Sex trafficking of women and children is going to drop. It’s worth the investment. It’s a one-time cost to secure this nation and make America safe again.”
