Cleaning the home may feel like an overwhelming task for many, but for some, it’s an enjoyable activity that relaxes them. However, no matter which group one belongs to, maintaining a clean home is essential for both physical and mental well-being.
Dusting and collecting pets’ hair regularly leads to reducing the chances of experiencing allergies and respiratory issues.
Clean spaces provide calming atmosphere, while cluttered areas around the house can cause stress and anxiety.
When visiting someone’s place, you can easily determine if they clean their home regularly and thoroughly or they just do a quick superficial tidying before someone announces their arrival.
1. Cluttered Corners
Some of the spots where dust collects the most are the corners, under the furniture, and behind the doors. Those individuals who clean their home regularly would make sure these spots are flawless as much as the rest of their home.
2. Lingering Odors
In an attempt to “hide” the fact that they only clean their place of living superficially, some people use air or room fresheners. These scents mask the odors that come from unclean carpets, their pets, or musty smells. If we clean the place regularly and thoroughly, there is no need of overusing fresheners.
3. Dust on Various Surfaces
Dust settles on nearly every surface in the home, and that’s something we all know too well. However, it tends to accumulate more on surfaces that are overlooked, such as shelves, electronics, frames, or light fixtures. If you notice dust on such areas when visiting someone home, it’s one of the subtle signs that the homeowners don’t do the cleaning that often.
4. Dirt in Bathroom
If you want to know how clean a person is, check their bathroom. While we can clean the living areas quickly, the bathroom takes more time. Pay attention to soap scum, mildew, mold, and dust buildup around the toilet and shower doors. If these spots are spotless, then the bathroom is truly clean.
5. Grease and Crumbs
If there is obvious grease build up on cabinets, or you spot crumbs or sticky spots on the counter tops, that means the kitchen has only been cleaned superficially.
6. Pet Hair
Having pet hair all around the place is a obvious sign that the home owner doesn’t pay much attention on cleaning their place regularly. What’s most, having a pet at home requires more work around the home and taking great care of the animal. If the dogs don’t get regular baths or the cat litter isn’t changed as often, they can produce an unpleasant smell.
7. Dirty Windows and Mirrors
Fingerprints and marks all over the windows and the mirrors do tell a lot about the person’s unwillingness to pay attention to the appearance of their home.
8. Baseboards
Vacuum lines on carpets show that the chore of vacuuming has been done recently. But it is the clean baseboards that reveal that the cleaning was thorough.
If you invest in regular cleaning of your home, you get to enjoy the benefit of a longevity of your living space.
