An arrest has been made in the case of the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The suspect has been identified at 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, who is coming from a wealthy Baltimore family.
Video footage of Mangione was spread nationwide. The public was urged to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts. As per NBC, the multi-state manhunt ended on Monday, when a person recognized the suspect at a McDonald’s.
New York Times reported that Mangione’s family is an influential one. His grandparents, Nick Mangione Sr. and Mary C. Mangione, purchased and developed the Turf Valley Country Club in Ellicott City in the 1970s. They have deep roots in the development and business sector.

Later, the family purchased Hayfields Country Club in Hunt Valley, Maryland and established Lorien Health Services, a network of nursing homes. They are also the owners of WCBM-AM, a radio station holding a conservative political stance.
One of the cousins of the suspect, Nino Mangione, serves as a Republican state delegate and WCBM host.
As per People, at the time of the arrest, Mangione possessed multiple fake IDs, including a N.J. ID used to check into a hostel where he allegedly stated, a 9mm “ghost gun” similar to the one he committed the crime with. He also possessed “a 3-page manifesto critical of the health insurance industry.”
Mangione faces two felony charges: carrying a firearm without a license and forgery. He faces three misdemeanor charges: tampering with records, possessing instruments of crime, and providing false identification to law enforcement.
According to the police, he has been denied bail.
The suspect had no prior criminal record. The police, however, are investigating his online activities. Especialy those in reference to domestic terrorist Ted Kaczynski, who is known for his anti-establishment beliefs.

Allegedly, three words “deny,” “depose,” and “defend” were carved into the live rounds and shell casings found at the crime scene.
