With 150 million records sold globally, Alan Jackson is without a doubt one of the most prominent country musicians the world has ever seen. Known for blending traditional honky-tonk and mainstream country pop sounds, Jackson’s list of awards is so long we stopped counting. Among the rest, he is a recipient of two Grammy Awards, 16 CMA Awards, 17 ACM Awards and nominee of multiple other awards.
In 2001, Jackson was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, while in 2017 and 2018, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame respectively.
Jackson is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
Besides being a music legend, Jackson is also a family man. He and his wife Denise Jackson have been married for more than 40 years, and now that Christmas is just around the corner, they have yet another reason for celebration.
On December 13, two days prior to their 43rd anniversary, they became grandparents for the first time.
When they tied the knot, Alan was 21 and Denise was 19 years old. Twenty years into their marriage, they separated but didn’t divorce and they reconciled eventually.
Alan and Denise have three daughters, Mattie Denise Selecman, Alexandra Jane “Ali”, and Dani Grace.
When Ali gave birth to her baby boy, Alan shared the exciting news on Instagram along with a photo of him and Denise posing with the little one.
“Denise and I are celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary with our new grandson Jackson Alvie Bradshaw. Ali and Sam welcomed Jack into the world on Dec 13, 2022. So happy that this little guy has made us grandparents!”
This year, Alan Jackson received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award which honors “an iconic artist who has attained the highest degree of recognition in Country Music.”
“I’ve had a great team around me my whole career that has helped me, great songwriters. I’ve been so fortunate to have all that to help me get this far. I can’t thank everybody who’s been in my life all these years, but I do have to say thanks to my wife Denise, over there somewhere,” he said in his speech.
We congratulate the Jacksons to the new addition to their family.
